i have an 1979 yamaha that was left to me. it has been sitting in the barn for i dont know how long. i dont know alot about motorcycles but thought it might be fun to rebuild to origanl or even go with the bobber style, which i like alot. does anyone have any advise on were to start.

Change the fuel, it will be contaminated. New battery and spark plugs. Then see if it runs.
Then make your mind as to what to do with it.
Just found out the manuals site we used to recommend has closed down for some reason, so sorry for not passing one on.

Hi mate
First off.....check for compression as its sat so long.Then strip down and take pics as you go along so you can use them to put it back together.Start with frame and powder coat it,While youre doing this send tank ,side panels etc off for painting and any rechroming.Then crack on ...........let us know with pics how you get on.
