$1000's in parts eh? i can do the labor those must be some pretty expensive parts..i might sell or trade her but id rather not.. my legs are strong,but it kicks back and its gonna snap my ankle or send me flying over the handle bars,lol..i know its not easy to kick a v-twin 1200cc bike,but this is dangerous and something must be wrong..
im told i should adjust the timing and points,but im not sure of the specs and how to adjust the timing..
would timing/points cause it to kickback?
what the f*ck is an evo?

respect! good way to start! i meant an evolution motered harley! updated engine more reliable etc , check you tube for starting techniques ! lots of companies will help you if you email them , get surfing! the best way to kickstart the b*****d, is to ease it over tdc , just past compression, and put your whole weight into it! then relax your leg! or it'll launch you! best way to check timing is to remove the plugs , put it in gear and push forward slowly while a friend checks piston travel with say a screwdriver or pencil etc, a 12v bulb accross the points will show when they seperate, this will give you a rough idea when its firing, you can get a dial test indicator to screw in to the plug hole to be 100% accurate, k? cheers
