No, our first child is due in May and, instead of having two bikes, I want something that I can ride all year round and doesn't go through tyres every few months. I'll get back to sports bikes one day, or something similar, but for now I have to cut costs and I am not buying a car. I'm starting to understand why sports bikers are regarded the way they are by the rest of the biking community though. You're not the first to take the piss and you won't be the last. Cheers Grim

Having ridden scunj`s varadero i can say they are a hell of a lot of fun. And my old back cannot hack the race reps no more. This is as always a "mines better than yours syndrome" err, are they not all "bikes" at the end of the day?

grim, ya must be gutted at the thought of loosin' yer blade but alas ya seen the light.... the varaaaahahahahadero is a mighty beast with enuff ooomph to make ya grin. trick is not to look at the numbers that the crotch rocket bike mags lob out and ride the thing like a bat out of hell....it really dont figure just how good they are. ooo and if ya need a great tried and tested modification to the standard exhaust system using a 51mm holesaw, pistol drill and 1 minutes worth of hooliganism i tried it late autumn and it works a treat...doesn't even mess with the fuelling and makes a respectable noise far removed from the standard honda whine

Ta Scunj, I'll let you know on that one. I'm actually not too gutted about the Blade, I have been riding the canyon for a few weeks and then I rode the Blade the other day. It felt quick but I really couldn't be arsed to rev it to 11k to get to the top end. I'm test riding a Varadero tomorrow and then going to look at one in London with a mate. Crossing my fingers. Ox, you're dead right about the bikes thing, I've always tried to respect what others decide to ride, with the exception of a bit of friendly piss-taking. Being overtaken by a far better rider at Cadwell on an FJ1200 when I was on the Blade was a humbling experience. some riders are quick on anything and it's down to the individual what they choose to ride. Cheers Grim
